The Harry Potter books. I'm sure it translated into a lot of different languages given it's popularity. I enjoyed reading all seven of the books, I say this as someone who usually don't like to read that much.

Which English novels would you recommend?
I would recommend Lord of the Rings I,II and III and The Hobbit.
They also have a Chinese version (which I am reading now) in 上海书城 so you can make sure you understand it all step by step.
