Schulen, Universitäten, Gerichte und Parlamente schließen für einen bestimmten Zeitraum, daher haben, bzw. machen Schüler, Lehrer, Studenten, Professoren etc. Ferien.
Angestellte, Arbeiter etc. hingegen haben bzw. machen Urlaub.
Man kann daher sagen: sich x Tage/Wochen Urlaub nehmen (bei Ferien kann man das nicht sagen).
