Why are you crying for... Why are you crying for? & Why are you crying? What is the difference?

'What for?' is the equivalent of 'Why?', so there are two ways of asking this question: 'Why are you crying?' or 'What are you crying for? You can't say 'Why are you crying for?'. This form doesn't exist.
