So, is "take one and pass on another." mistaken? I'm confused..

I agree with Senora, sounds like you want to say "Take one, pass it on"
If you want to add "next person/other person", you should say:
"Take one and pass it to the next (person)" OR
"Take one and pass it on to someone else".

I'm not sure what you're asking, but it sounds like "Take one, pass it on." If so, if someone passed you a plate of cookies (or something) you would take one cookie, then pass the plate on to another person. Does this sound like what you're talking about?
