"are heading the same way" or "are headed the same way"?
If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those people who are _______ the same way we are.
C. headed
D. heading
The key is C. But I think D is correct. Which option is correct anyway? Could you please explain it? Thank you.

Hi.
Both are correct. If you use "headed" the word becomes an adjective modifying the verb "are" . This used to be called a "predicate adjective".
If you use "heading" then it becomes part of the verb in the present tense.
The expression " are headed" is very much in use and is what most (American) native speakers say in casual conversation.
