I believe you are asking if the 2 phrases "despite its type" and "all kinds of something" can be used interchangeably? If so, can you give more context to the phrases? The phrase "all kinds of something" is rarely used if all and might be spoken among friends joking around. If I understand how these phrases are being used I may be able to help you more. Rob

"Type," is a name given to similar things, yes. For example, a crocodile is a type of reptile, as is a snake. So crocodiles and snakes are both types of reptile. Are you happy that you know the meaning of "despite"?
