Phoebe: Yeah, oh, Princess Leia and the gold bikini, every guy our age loved that. Rachel: Really! Phoebe: Um, um. It's huge. Yeah, that's the moment, when-when, you know she stopped being a princess, and became, like, a woman, you know. Rachel: Did you ever do the-the Leia thing? Phoebe: Oh, yeah, um-mm. Oh! Rachel: Really! That-that great huh? Phoebe: No it's just that I got this new pager and I have it on vibrate. See ya! 2. Janice: We're baack! Joey: Hey! Chandler: What are you guys doing together? Janice: Joey and Janice's DAY OF FUN!!! (laughs) Chandler: Well, you know, I appreciate you giving it a shot. Joey: But, hey, look, you know the good thing is, is that we spent the whole day together and I survived, and what's even more amazing, so did she. It was bat day at Shea Stadium. to be continued in "answer" section........

I can try to help you! 1 Answer: the pager is vibrating, is a sexual reference to an adult toy, same as a iphone when it vibrates, therefore the audience was laughing as she will stay home with her new pager/vibrator. 2. Bat day at Shea stadium (yes real location) is when they give out small bats to all the children whom attend the game that day for free. 3. Uncle Sam is just that the US government pays the bill. They used to use a poster with a photo of a generic man named uncle sam to recruit you into the armed forces.

#2 - Many sports teams have special "days" when they give out prizes to the people who go to see the game. Here's a list of a few of the things that teams gave out last year - http://time.com/money/4305347/major-league-baseball-giveaway-days/ On "Bat Day" they give out bats (the one I got as a little kid was pretty close to full size). He's joking that he nearly hit her with a bat. #3 - This is a lot of references all jammed together. "Uncle Sam" is a symbol for the United States. "doing something on someone's dime (or nickel)" means that that person is paying for it. So, "we're going to a restaurant on my boss's nickel" means that my boss will be paying for the dinner. so "he did it on Uncle Sam's nickel" means that their grandfather didn't have to pay to go to Europe - the US paid for his transport there and his food and lodging while he was there. “strafing German troop trains” - based on the ages of all of these people, Ross and Monica's grandfather was a soldier in WWII. So his "travel around Europe" wasn't fun travel - he was fighting a war. That's very different than the kind of travel that their mother would have done.

3.Mr. Geller: Honey, relationships are hard. Like with your Mom and me. You know after we graduated college we broke up for a while. It seems her Father, your Grandfather, wanted her to travel around Europe, like he did. Of course, he got to do it on Uncle Sam's nickel, because he was also strafing German troop trains at the time. ........ Q1, i know what princess leia is, i just don’t understand when phoebe says “ I got this new pager and I have it on vibrate.” the audience laughs like crazy, so there’s more than just a real pager, right? Q2, joey tries to be friendly to chandler’s girlfriend, and spends a day with her but still couldn’t stand her, what does he mean by “It was bat day at Shea Stadium”, shea stadium is a real stadium, right? What is a bat day? Why does he say so here? Q3, what does “on Uncle Sam’s nickel” mean? I know uncle sam=US., nickel is 5 cents, what about “on”? Does it mean “using/ spending”? What about “strafing German troop trains”? Does it mean “US. was attacking German”? thanks a lot, I really appreciate your help!
