如果是用中文....我觉得他们并没有什么区别。 foe example ,if you wanna express "里"in English ,you can use "into "or "inside ",but i think if you express it in Chinese ,you can say 里,里面or 里边 both ok .

Hi, I think again. There maybe a liitle different. For example, you call me and ask where I am. I said, 我在家里面。then, you come to my house which has two rooms, and my wife open the door, she will say, come in, Songfei在里边那件屋子。 I guess the house is a container, so 我在家里面. But the door and the wall is a line, when you cross the line, you will find me. So my wife will say 他在里边那件屋子。 Anyway, it's my guess. When we speak, we don't think about these rules. We just perfer to use one word rather than another. Are you interested in finding a language parter? Even only speak one or two sentence a day, we can helpe each other a lot.

Hi, as a native speaker, 里边 and 里面 is exactly same for me. I think in the history, they may have different meaning. But now they are definitely same meaning. I sit in front of computer, I can't figure out one sentence which can only one word rather than another. And we you say “我在家里”, you actually says "我在家里(面)" "我在家里(边)"

Hey Matan, They are pretty much the same as Fork said above. 裡面 seems to be more commonly used in written Chinese, while 裡邊 is often more commonly used in spoken Chinese. If you want to say "at home" then yes, it's 在家裡, think of that as a collocation. Laurence
