What does 'temporal sense' mean?
Hi!
I came across this phrase today and don't quite understand what it means. Is it the same as 'sense of time'?
The whole sentense: it's programmed so that even withing the system, the temporal sense is retained.
Thanks in advance for your answer!

Hi Tatyana,
Good question, it's stumped me! http://www.memidex.com/present+temporal-sense define it as meaning "the present", so I think your guess of the sense of time is probably right. In the context of the sentence, my best guess is that some part of a programme is designed to 'keep time', that is, always know what the current time is as it is running.
I hope this helps.
Triss :)

It is the same meaning, but I think it's because we think of the "senses" as more of a human trait (sense of sight, sense of smell, sense of time), but with the word "programmed" I believe you are talking about a computer. We typically don't talk about computers like they have a sense. That would be my guess anyway
