What is the difference between 'get to like' and 'take a liking to'?

"Get to like" is more a way of saying that you are allowed to like something, or that you have earned liking something. "To take a liking to" means that you have begun to like something. It's also a little more old-fashioned. Of course, there can easily be some overlap in these meanings, so they do sometimes mean the same thing. It just depends on the context!
