Do you know this Japanese proverb?
"After rain the ground hardens."
How does it spell in Japanese? What does it mean?

The answer is often: 'rain' as a metaphor for conflict and 'the ground hardens' as a relationship growing stronger. Therefore, I would prefer 'the ground solidifies' having a more positive connotation as a 'hardened ground' which cannot be used to grow anything.
After rain, the ground solidifies.
Japanese culture, like most Asian cultures, is deeply opposed to conflict, so this is the encouragement to face conflict.
