Tuteur communautaireNovice, beginner, or freshman?
There are three very common words used to describe some new guy to a certain filed. I find them often when I read. What's the derailed difference among those three words?
1. Novice
2. Beginner
3. Freshman.
Would you like to help me with this question?

Novice and beginner are basically used for the same things. It is used for someone new to a certain skill or ability.
"I am a novice at salsa dancing."
"I am a beginner in salsa dancing."
Freshman indicates someone in their first year of high school or college (at least in the United States) and isn't much used outside of that.
"All of the new freshmen are going to the football game."
Hope this helps!
