Was sind die Unterschiede zwischen (s) und (ß)?

Mir fallen ein:
– <s> kann stimmhaft [z] oder stimmlos [s] sein, <ß> ist (genau wie <ss>) immer stimmlos.
– <s> kann in jeder Position im Wort stehen, <ß> nur nach langen oder Doppelvokalen.
