Entire or Whole
How can I say this correctly?
- I read the entire book.
- I read the whole book.
If both are correct, then what is the difference between these sentences?

Hi Edward
Both are correct. I think I would be slightly more likely to use "entire" if I wanted to complain about the book, for instance "I read the entire book - it was so long." But you could put "whole" in that sentence too - I don't think there is a difference.

They are both correct (in this context) and either one can be used. "Whole" is perhaps more everyday language, 'entire' a bit more formal.
