What´s the difference between 如果 and 只要...就 I have a little confusion between this two sentences (and I´m not completely sure if the second is correct): 只要你吃完所有的菜,我就让你去外面玩儿。 如果你吃完所有的菜,我让你去外面玩儿。 如果 and 只要 have a similar use, what do both of them exactly emphasize? 谢谢你答案我 :)

"只要A,就B" = "B, only if A", or "B provided that A" The emphasis is on the condition A. "如果A, B" = "If A, B" The emphasis is on the consequence B.

“只要” It is like bet. “如果” It is like consult. 如果 is more softer than 只要, also more mild. Futhermore 谢谢你回答我。 My English is not good, I hope you can understand.
