What's the difference between these two kanji?
I know that さくらmeans cherry blossom, but I saw two ways of writing it, including 櫻and 桜. I wonder if there's any difference between these two 漢字? I read that the kanji 櫻 is used in Family Names such as 櫻木 櫻井 and so on, when 桜 is used to describe flowers and color. Is that right?

「櫻」is considered as the traditional "kanji", while「桜」is the sort of simplified "kanji" in modern Japanese. That is basically the main difference. Hence,「櫻」is generally kept in surnames or in traditional literature.
