What does "it counts for a lot" mean?
Example
She's never lied to me, and in my book that counts for a lot.

it counts for a lot --> It has a lot of value
it counts for nothing --> it has no value

Basically, "that counts for a lot" means "that is important". The "in my book" bit makes it "that is important to me"
