Are these both ok?In China, we’re supposed to pick/lift up our bowl when eating rice.
It means that you can’t just leave the bowl on the table and bow your head down to eat rice

I wouldn't really use lift, although it is grammatically correct, I guess. But when I think of lift, it is for heavy objects, so pick feels more natural for something small like a bowl.

You need to hold the bowl in you hand while eating, instead of putting it on the table.
