Less than zero or below zero?
We use below zero only when speaking about temperature, right? When speaking about numbers we'd rather say less than zero?

That's right.

Correct, but for the sake of clarity, when we talk about temperature we mention the word "degrees" and then Fahrenheit (F) or Celsius (C). In the USA temperature is measured in degrees Fahrenheit while in Europe it is measured in degrees Celsius. This is an important point to remember when talking to Americans in English.
Numbers less than zero are called negative numbers.
Numbers GREATER than zero are called positive numbers.
