宏大 and 巨大 - what's the difference?
Hi everyone,
I came across '宏大' in an article recently. Is it exactly the same as '巨大'?
Which is more common, and which do you usually use? :)
Thank you so much!

宏大 implies magnificience and grandeur whereas 巨大 has no such connontation. It's similar to the nuance between "great" and "huge" in English.

Hi, Jack. "宏大" is not as commonly used as "宏伟", at least for me. Some dictionary says "宏大=宏伟+巨大", 宏伟 is close to magnificent and often in fixed combination like "宏伟气势/蓝图", 巨大 is gaint/huge/enormous.
