骄傲 is the antonym of the word 谦虚, and it means being overproud. There is a saying by chairman Mao ‘‘谦虚使人进步, 骄傲使人落后’’，which means modesty helps one to make progress, whereas conceit makes one lag behind. In China, we are taught at school that regardless of how highly people think of ourselves, we should always keep those words in mind. So we often use"哪里哪里" to express our humility or it will be regarded as being overproud.
