How much study required to fully understand Peppa Pig Mandarin As some of you know already, Peppa Pig is a children's animated series originally in English and there is also a Mandarin version, many of which are available on Youtube for free. I have been watching them as recommended by some (edited). At what HSK level do you think a person would understand almost completely everything that is said in all of the shows, in terms of vocabulary words needed? At 2/3 of the way through HSK 2 using a professional tutor, and my memorization with Memrise standard Mandarin courses 1 and 2 complete, and 1/3 through course 3, I can comprehend 1/4 of what is said, which is a ballpark estimate of course. I am very excited that I am understanding far more than I did when I first started watching, which was early in HSK 1 tutoring 1-on-1 using Italki. I do know a big part of my comprehension ability comes from the guided conversations I have with my tutor. My guess is it would be around the end of HSK 4 but I know little of this topic.
