Name, "Percival" and "Percy", "Abram" and "Abraham" Knights: The King has despatched us to crush your smelly peasants’ revolt. Peasants: But you can’t just go around killing peasants. That’s against the knights’ code of chivalry. Knight 1: Right. What if I were a peasant? Knight 2: Then, you would be able to fight the ones who were peasants. Knight 3: Yeah! I like your thinking, Sir Percival. Knight 1: From now on I’m known as Percy. Percy the peasant! Percival (Knight name), Percy (Peasant name), Why? What is the name coding system here? Is that short names are peasant's names, the longer a name is, the nobler it is? My name is Vicky, so it is a peasant's name? Besides, what 's difference between Abram and Abraham? Any special meaning for the added few letters?

No, it’s not about long versus short. Percival just sounds fancy because it is rare and has a literary association with knighthood. I’ve never heard anyone with the first name Abram. Abraham is an old fashioned Biblical name.
