Do you say “Gatsby is known BY his yellow car” , “Gatsby is known BECAUSE OF his yellow car”, “Gatsby is RECOGNIZED BY his yellow car” or “Gastby is TOLD apart by his yellow car”?

I would say that the 1st and 3rd ones are the most correct, with the 3rd one probably the best.
