Also, grits are an American term for wheat hearts or semolina.

I assume you are talking about “grit” as Angela Duckworth uses the term — having the determination to continue a difficult effort for a long time. My view: it’s super important and one of the biggest factors that distinguishes successful people from unsuccessful people.
