In this sentences the "it" refers to the action of being told what to do. A few more examples:
"He doesn't like it when I call him names."
"I don't like it when you do that"
"I really appreciate it when someone is kind to strangers"
You could also remove the "it" from any of these sentences and it would sound just as natural.

1. "It" refers to "when someone tells me what to do".
2. Let's look at a conversation:
"I don't like it", Bob said.
"What don't you like?", asked Mary.
"When someone tells me what to do", replied Bob.
3. One can also leave out the word "it":
"I don't like when someone tells me what to do".

It, here refers to "when someone tells me what to do". In conversation it is sometimes ommitted without changing the meaning, so you could say "I don't like when someone tells me what to do".
However in a dialogue you could say
"I don't like it when someone tells me what to do" Answered by "Everyone is told what to do sometimes". Possible reply "I still don't like it"
The "it" in both cases refers to the same circumstance
I hope this helps

Thank you all teaches ' offering .I understand the meaning of the whole sentences , but not know the reason why 'it' is used here by grammar.
I learned that it can denote the sentence but the "when …, " apparently does not belong to sentence but to a something like an adverb .
