Examples:
I am interested in something. (I would like to know more about the thing)
I am interesting to people. (People would like to know more about me)

The correct one here is :
" be interested in someone"
It means showing interest for someone.
You could say on the other hand :
" be interesting for someone"

"To be interested in smth" this is Present indefinite passive voice construction
Construction of the Passive Voice
The structure of the passive voice is very simple:
subject + auxiliary verb (be) + main verb (past participle)
The main verb is always in its past participle form.

somebody +be interested in sonething是正确的。 人做主语的情况下用-ed的形式。物做主语的情况下通常用 -ing 形式。
