Be alert with the oncoming or incoming cars? which is correct?

Be alert to ONCOMING traffic.

Oncoming. Incoming refers to something that has you as its target. Unless the car is trying to run you over, you would use oncoming, which refers to something that is coming near but is usually just passing by. Also, a better word to use in place of "car" is "traffic."
