Yes, and it is incredibly useful.  I find it best to listen to the same one over and over until you are thoroughly bored with it before picking up a new one.  They generally have good grammar and the type of pronunciation that a foreign learner should be trying to imitate.  I find that I understand a little bit more every time I listen to one.  Pick one for which you are already familiar with the story, or become accustomed to the story before listening to the audio book in the target language, perhaps by listening to a version in your own language first.  This allows you to easily know what is going on even when you only understand a tiny fraction of the words.

I would say that after listening to audio tracks from television episodes and movies (they are less boring than audio books) that listening to audio books is my primary method of learning.
