"أن " has several meanings.
As a conjugation it could mean ' that':
من المعروف أن
It is well known that .....
It could also mean 'to':
هو يريد أن يشرح الكلمة
He wants to explain the word
هل من الممكن أن أستخدم هاتفك؟
Is is possible to use your phone?
