Ways to use the word horrid. Are these sentences both correct? 1.The weather is horrible today. 2.The weather is horrid today. Thanks loads.

'Horrid' and 'horrible' both mean dreadful, disagreeable, terrible or offensive, so you can use both to describe very bad weather.

Both sentences are grammatically correct. But very few people in America would say "The weather is horrid today". Horrid sounds too antiquated, too proper to American ears. Though, I admit, I use it frequently. I think that's because I read too many old books.
