Living in Beijing is too expensive, especially renting. I even applied for jobs in 2 or 3 tier cities. Even though they showed their interest, I must accept lower pay scale and longer work hours. They said, “You know our pay is lower than Beijing, but if you tutor lessons, you can get extra pay.” I thought the first question is: Are there lessons exactly available for me to teach? The second is, will they be satisfied with my teaching? So I refused. I said “wish you can find some talented people locally”.

Even though they showed their interest, I would need to accept a lower pay scale and longer working hours. They said, “You know our pay is lower than Beijing, but if you tutor lessons, you can get extra pay.” Straight away I wondered whether there actually would be any lessons available for me to teach? And would my teaching be satisfactory? So, with these concerns, I refused. I said “I do hope you can find some talented people locally”.
