Living in big cities, such as those first-tier ones, was a common dream to many people in the past. However, as the mass living standards improved, increasing attention to health has gradually become a trend among human beings. More and more people tend to relocate their houses in small cities or in rural areas. Why? Big cities produce much more toxic emissions in the air, and its high-level consumption can bring more economical anxieties. As a result, some people argue that living in a big city can do harm to their health. However, my personal preference towards big cities holds me the opposite opinon to that argument.
As I know, big cities are usually built with a specific index upon plant covering, which means, we are full of opportunities to see green plants in our surroundings by living in a big city. Also, there are many free parks open for the purpose of physical exercises. Most importantly, the convenient and speedy transportation tools allow us to travel to natural spots easily.
Regarding the high-level consumption in big cities, I think it depends on individual's consuming habits. The big cities not only abundant in categories of goods, but also in pricing. In addition, many large-brand shops usually are not opened in small cities and rural areas, such as Walmart---a wholesale supermarket, and Zara----a fast-fashion clothing brand, as I know, they provide various categories with friendly price in certain period.
In conclusion, the convenience of living in a big city can also bring benefit on both mental and physical health. Therefore, I disagree with the argument that residing in big cities is bad for people's health.
