Hi
Could anyone help to understand the meanings of "grinding" and "clashers" in this sentence?
"That crazy rat. Thought Wilbur. Why does he have to stay up all night, **grinding** his **clashers** and distroying people's peroperty?"
Thanks
"Clashers" must mean the rat's teeth. Grinding is what teeth do when they chew food, particularly the back molars. While "grinding" is a common enough word, "clashers" is made up for the occasion, it seems to me.
I hope that helps.
