Use of neither. Hey everybody! I need your help real quick with something. I am writing a text and I just would like to know if there's something wrong with this " We aren't that big, neither that small " I am not sure if it's okay using aren't and neither like I did. Thanks in advance!

What do we need? Simple life. I have been wondering lately about life and our needs. What is really necessary for us to be truly happy? 

Often I come across with this question and I see that only material things aren't gonna bring us the true happiness, they can bring us some pleasure and a sensation to be valued, but it's not a long lasting feeling of happiness, cause it's a cicle of need, we are conditioned to think we need more and more everytime, like it has no end, and while we fight to get these things, time and life are passing by us . 

I think we could be happier living in a simplier way, we wouldn't need to waste our energy with not important things, such as working hard for someone else in exchange of a place to sleep, food to eat, and those 2 days off to rest and then restart all over. Like machines.
I know, it sounds dramatic, but still there are many other people having a worse life. 

I am sure life is much more than living like you are a machine. We aren't here to hate mondays =P

What are you thoughts about that?

Argentinian Spanish

Hello italkers ! 

I have spent over 1 week in a very known brazilian island named Florianópolis, it's in the south of Brazil, and it's interesting how Argentinians love to go there, it wasn't even high season and I could meet many of them there ! Along with this situation, I could practice my spanish and notice how different Argentinian spanish sounds and gramatically differs too, personally I really liked it. So now I am more interested in learning in the Argentinian way jajaja  =) ! 

Sharing a story, I met an Argentinian guy who went there with more 2 friends to spend 1 week of their vacation there, but they felt in love with Florianópolis and decided to stay over there, they left their jobs and stayed for more 1 month, then his 2 friends decided to go back to Argentina, except this guy, he chose to stay ! So now he lives from his music, playing on streets and bars, but also he's got a record business he left in Argentina for his friend to take care on the condition to have 50% of the profits. 

I kind of understand, since I myself felt in love with the city and felt like living there as well, I still do lol ! 

So, concluding ! Argentinian spanish is really nice, loved it!

Do you think extraterrestrial life exists ? I genuinely think extraterrestrial life exists, in so many forms we can't even imagine ! The Universe is potentially infinite, so in some way, all kinds of life should be possible. It is incredibly improbable that life only exists on the Earth and no where else. Unfortunately, given the issues scientists have experienced trying to find life elsewhere over the last century or more, it will likely be a while before we have unambiguous scientific roof that we are not alone... then again, we have really only just started looking.

Does success means money for you ? In my point of view, success and money are different things. I don't exclude money from an evidence of success, but it is not the only statement of success.  There are many other ways to consider yourself successful in life... I would say one of the greatest indicative of success is Happiness! 
When you are satisfied with your life, you are a successful person! 
Now we wonder, what takes one to reach satisfaction, what are the ways one takes to be satisfied. Is it money? Is it a big and united family ? Is it the company of good friends ? Is it life itself ? Is it the simple fact life happens here and now and you feel integrated to it ? 
What does make you feel satisfied anyways ? 

I feel very happy when I am able to achieve my goals, such as a challenges I set to myself, even simple things as taking care of a flower. However, there is something which I believe to be intrinsically connected to success, I am talking about being yourself,  when you detach from ideas and concepts that are only useful to hold you back away from your real self and limit who you are .

Well, between this and that, I think success is a state of mind, it is all about self satisfaction.

Educational System in your country Let`s talk about how the educational system works in our countries?

In Brazil it works in a very separatist way, we have public schools and private schools ... public schools, in its big majority, are very precarious in many aspects, from the lack of organization and money to administrate this kind of institution to the lack of a real education ( which fits to both type public and private in most of the cases ). In the category of private schools, we have the sub categories, the one which is financially accessible, the expansive kind and that one only a few can actually pay for. I myself have always studied in the financially accessible ones, which could already offer a lot more than any public school. 
There is a quote very often used which says " It`s the student who makes the school good " so it eliminates the teachers actions to make the school good, eliminates the books, and etc. But I don`t agree with this quote, I don`t agree because I think it is not only the student who will make the learning significant and the school a good place, it also includes the teacher, who can change your mind on a specific subject either to a positive or negative side, the teacher`s method to teach counts a lot in this learning process for a student, motivation is another very important point, and schools doesn't give enough importance to this aspect, a discouraged student learns much less, and this motivation comes from the method of teaching, which unfortunately is very backwards and needs to change for better. 

So many important issues are left aside due a corrupt government, where the money from taxes are very bad administrated and spent with personal interests of politicians. The lack of a good education is something essencial to keep people`s mind blind to see how wrong it is. 

The education system in Brazil ( and I believe in many other countries) is full of failures 
Well, summing up my point of view, I think the real education stimulates people`s creativity, but the education which is given makes the opposite path, it cuts creativity and creates frustrated people. 

Well, there is so much to be said about it, but basically that`s what I think.
