Hi! I’m an American native English speaker and a TEFL-certified teacher with many years of online teaching experience. As a language learner myself, I understand how challenging learning a new language can be. I focus on helping you feel confident and prepared to use English anywhere—whether at work, traveling, or in daily life.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy running, reading, playing video games, listening to music, and I love animals. I even worked in the veterinary field for several years before becoming a teacher.

I received my TEFL certification in Prague, Czech Republic, and have taught English to learners of all levels in group classes and one-on-one lessons. I have also volunteered in school classrooms, working with English language learners in developing their reading skills, as well as participating in language exchange during university.
My goal as a teacher is to make you feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged. Conversations flow more naturally when we feel secure, so I create an environment in which you feel you can communicate freely, and you do not feel afraid to make mistakes. I aim to make our lessons very enjoyable, and focused on your goals and interests. Speaking and conversation practice will usually be our main focus, because improving this skill leads to more confidence with the language, easier application of the language in real-world situations, and an increased vocabulary. It also allows us to identify grammatical challenges you may be facing, so we can work on those together, using materials I have developed that have proven to be very effective in helping my students better understand different grammar forms. Picking Melissa as my English teacher was the best decision of last year. I am so thankful for her patience, encouragement and knowledge. I hope she knows how wonderful teacher she is.❤️😀 At the beginning, I was so shy to speak to anyone, let alone to teacher.
