Looking to learn English to attend university ? Are you a student in an IB program? Do you need to improve your writing for personal, professional, or academic purposes? Just looking for general English? Hi, I'm Chris, and I'm here to help YOU achieve your goals!
I'm an American teacher from Boston currently living in Madrid. For most of the last 10 years I have lived abroad in both Spain and China, and have been teaching English professionally for 9. I have a BA in English from Vassar College, as well as a Master's in English Linguistics (focusing on communication and language learning) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. I also speak Spanish, Portuguese, and some Chinese. Welcome!
My #1 goal is to help YOU excel. I have taught hundreds of students from over 50 countries, and have proudly seen many go on to enter universities in the US/UK, get promotions at work, or simply have the confidence to talk to strangers in English! Whatever your goal might be, together we can make it happen!
Though I have experience teaching all levels, I'm best at teaching intermediate and advanced English. I specialize in academic English, and even worked as the language acquisition department head at an IB high school. I also offer intensive writing classes for both students and professionals. In every case, I always try and make it fun, because learning should always be a joy!
