Hi Everyone!
My names Robbie, who's a English Language teacher from the United kingdom. I'm also a masters student studying an MA in Education and International Development at Newcastle University. Most of my teaching experience was in China (你好我的中国朋友!), but i have also taught in person in England and most recently in India. Now I'm fortunate to teach many wonderful students online in my current work from all over the globe.
Outside of teaching, my major past times are cycling and playing guitar. I can't live without either and i quickly go mad when deprived of them!Moi en tant que professeur
I think encouragement and praise are equally as important as correction. Learning English should be a fun, engaging and rewarding experience, so i always try my best to remind students that even if they are struggling in the moment, that any progress is good progress!
That however, doesn't mean I'm not quick to point out mistakes and try my hardest to improve my students English. Thoughtful and constructive feedback are critical and always provided both in lesson and via a post lesson document afterwards.Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
When teaching advanced learners, my preferred style is to have conversations with them, particularly about topics they may be unfamiliar with to challenge their vocabulary and ability to think and use English quickly. I then use the information gained in class to design homework and follow up activities the next lesson to ensure understanding before, again entering conversation with the expectation that students try and include what we learnt previously.
When teaching less advanced students and children, lessons are more structured with more focused language. Usually students learn new language in a structured environment before being asked to then use it in a "free practice".Mes ressources d'enseignement

Participated and contributed to workshops and demonstrations with other teachers in the center.
2018 - 2020
English Language TeacherTaught oral English to students grades 1-6 in class sizes of 40, teaching the same curriculum as Chinese staff as well as making my own materials.
Taught special lessons relating to western holidays and cultural events (Christmas, Halloween etc.)
Led presentations in assembly hall to whole grades on English children movies and TV.
Assessed students at the end of term.
Supported Chinese teachers in lesson and activity design.
2021 - 2021
English Teacher - Exam preperation and supportDuring the pandemic, i supported students at my local university and remotely in preparation for IELTS examinations as well as had conversational English lessons to help improve their fluency.
One hour long classes with a feedback document provided to help students recognize not only their weaknesses but also their strengths when speaking English. Improvements with examples were always provided to help them improve in their free time outside of class.

My son (9 years old) loves Robbie‘s classes! The classes are very well structured and I am happy to see, that my son has no difficulty talking to a native speaker for 30 minutes and seems to understand everything Robbie teaches him! Thank you very much!
