I’m Marisa, a native Spanish teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching international students. I hold a PhD and specialize in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
I was born and raised in Spain and have also lived in Australia, Canada, and Hawaii, which has allowed me to experience different cultures and better understand the challenges of learning a new language.
I know what it feels like to want to speak a language, to understand it, but then go blank when it’s time to express yourself.
As a teacher, I am patient, approachable, and flexible. I listen to each student in order to understand their needs and goals, whether for work, studies, or social situations.
I adapt to each student’s pace so that learning feels comfortable, clear, and effective. Wherever you are starting from, my priority is for you to feel supported, capable, and confident throughout the process.
My classes are practical, clear, and communicative. We work on grammar in context, as well as pronunciation and comprehension from day one.
We move step by step so you always know what you are learning and why. The goal is to use Spanish in real-life situations from the very beginning.
Rather than memorizing rules, my focus is on helping you speak with confidence, understand real conversations, and express yourself without fear.

Even though I only took one lesson with Marisa, it's very clear why she's such a popular teacher. Besides being extremely friendly and warm, she has a motivating and effective teaching style. I would definitely recommend her.
