Mona

Mona is a one of a kind tutor. She's been tutoring me for one year now and she always comes to every meeting with high energy and enthusiasm to teach. She has lived in many different places in Jamaica so she is very knowledge about all the different parishes and has personal stories to tell about each one. She is very kind and honest and makes learning patios very fun! She will make you read, write, and speak patios as well which really helps me learn it at a fast rate.

One of the language learning goals I set for myself in 2022 was to better understand how English is used in different parts of the English-speaking world. Since Jamaica is one of those countries I'm interested in, I started looking for a Jamaican English teacher who could help me with my studies. It was then when I found Mona's profile on italki. I can honestly say that she's one of the best teachers I've ever had the opportunity of learning from; she is knowledgeable and professional, friendly and helpful, as well as patient and understanding, she always listens to the needs of her students and has a great sense of humor too. So far we've covered a wide range of topics, and in addition to helping me with my English, she has also given me an insight into Jamaican culture and Jamaican Creole/Patois that I can't thank her enough for that.
