I was born and raised in Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance and of the Italian language. I love my city and my culture, but I’m also passionate about travel and discovering new places. Since I teach online full-time, I get to connect globally with students from all over the world—even while working from abroad. Languages have always fascinated me. I speak English fluently and have some knowledge of French and Russian. Lately, I’ve started learning Swahili, just for the joy of it! I enjoy cooking, good wine, and meaningful conversations. I also practice yoga, spend time in nature, and relax with books, music, and a bit of writing.

Moi en tant que professeur

I’ve always loved languages! I studied Latin, Ancient Greek, and classical humanities in high school, then went on to study Education Sciences at the University of Florence. Later, I specialized in teaching Italian as a foreign language at the University of Siena. I’ve been teaching Italian for almost 10 years now – first in language schools in Florence and in Moscow, and since 2015 as a freelance online teacher. Here on italki and through other channels, I help students from all over the world feel more confident with Italian, whether they’re learning it for travel, work, family, or just for the joy of it!

Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement

My lessons are interactive, practical, and focused on real communication. I use engaging activities and quality materials to help you develop all your language skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—in a balanced way. I’ll encourage you to start speaking from day one, without pressure. Grammar is important, but always as a tool to support communication. I also focus on building useful vocabulary in context. Lessons are fully customizable based on your level, needs, and learning style.

About a year and a half ago, I began learning Italian from scratch with Federica, and this April, I successfully passed the CILS B1 citizenship exam with top scores! I'm thrilled! Federica is fantastic. She is very responsive and ensures that each lesson is engaging and customized to areas where I need improvement. I highly recommend her. My learning pace was very relaxed, with just two lessons a week, even when taking vacations once or twice a year. --- Circa un anno e mezzo fa, ho iniziato a studiare l'italiano da zero con Federica e, questo aprile, ho superato con successo l'esame CILS B1 per la cittadinanza con i voti più alti! Federica è fantastica. È molto disponibile e si assicura che ogni lezione sia coinvolgente e personalizzata sulle aree in cui ho bisogno di migliorare. La raccomando vivamente. Il mio ritmo di apprendimento era molto rilassato, con solo due lezioni a settimana, anche quando prendevo vacanze una o due volte l'anno.
