Born into a family of teachers in Boston, I fell in love with language and writing early. After graduating from McGill University with a degree in History, I moved to Spain, where I began to teach English. Living and working in an English-speaking environment can be frustrating and isolating. The challenges go beyond grammar and vocabulary, despite what many learners are told.
