MIKI

I've been learning Japanese with Miki since she first started teaching on iTalki, and her lessons have been excellent. Each lesson, I learn practical expressions that help me speak naturally while chatting and laughing with her. What I truly appreciate about Miki is her unique balance-- she can be a good friend but also an excellent tutor, guiding and teaching throughout our conversations. This quality truly makes her a 珍しい先生 (a rare teacher). MikiさんがiTalkiで教え始めてからずっと、彼女に日本語を学んでいます。毎回のレッスンがとても楽しく、一緒に笑いながら実用的な表現を学んでいます。 特に感謝しているのは、Mikiさんが良き友人であると同時に、常に日本語を教えてくれる頼もしいチューターでもあることです。まさに珍しい先生だと思います。

I had a great first lesson with Miki-sensei. I was looking for a Japanese tutor with knowledge about the Ainu people of Hokkaido and their culture. Miki is not Ainu, but she has done a lot of research about them and their history. Fun fact, she's the only teacher whose profile appears when searching アイヌ as a keyword in the teacher search bar. She was very enthusiastic, sociable, and great at keeping the conversation going. I had a great time and look forward to chatting again.
