Hello! I’m Scott—an American English coach with 30+ years of expertise, blending language mastery with real-world business savvy (MBA/finance). Based in Japan, I help professionals and ambitious learners speak with clarity, confidence, and cultural fluency—whether for presentations, negotiations, or daily communication.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE: I have nearly 30years(1994-2024) experience teaching English as a Second Language at both Japanese Universities and as an Online English Language Tutor. I "hold" three(3) higher education degrees. B.A. American Literature, B.A. Economics/Marketing M.B.A. Business Administration. OTHER BUSINESS/INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE: Besides my career as an English Second Language Tutor, I have worked as a Program Coordinator at a Government run NPO Educational Agency as well as, working as a private investment and financial services consultant. My "main focus" during each lesson is to help you (1) build your vocabulary (2) improve and use correct pronunciation while speaking (3) improve your voice intonation(while reading) and (4) improve your listening comprehension. To accomplish (1-4) I use a variety of free chat techniques, PDFs, internet websites, text documents, image files, etc.
My lessons are fun, fast paced and usually there is an "objective/goal" that both student and I want to achieve each lesson. At times, I will assign review homework to the student).
