YURI.

Where to begin, I've been working with 有里さん for some time now and here is how things have been going. First of all, she's incredibly patient because I'm a horrible student and constantly have to be reminded things that I'm supposed to know and obviously forgot. Second of all, I really like going over previous lessons and she likes to take time and not rush ahead in new material that I don't have the mental space to learn. Finally, I really like that she doesn't speak any English and she's constantly making me speak Japanese and I have to use any knowledge I already have. Sometimes it's extremely challenging but I think that this is the way to learn a foreign language.

Yuri teaches the entire class in Japanese which I think is the most effective way to learn Japanese, even at fairly beginning levels. The teacher needs a higher level of skill to do this and Yuri is a skilled teacher. I would recommend her for anyone who is willing to commit some time to study. Her class is also fun.

A lot of what makes a teacher good is 気持ち。Yuriーsensei is skilled teacher, and she is also pleasant to speak with. She does not use English in the lessons, so it's an opportunity to really practice your Japanese.

Here are the things I appreciate about Yuri. She helps keep me moving forward with my Japanese. She manages to stay focused and still keep the classes relaxed and enjoyable. She seems to have a natural sense of how much to correction to give. She uses Japanese whenever possible and avoids simply giving me the word in English. I highly recommend her for the student who can hold a conversation in Japanese, but wants to improve and reach a higher level.

I think Yuri is an exceptional teacher. I am willing to put some time into improving my Japanese and I appreciate her help. She suggested the Marugoto textbook series which is a really good text with a lot of audio and other materials. I really like Yuri's lessons.
