Sorcha

Sorcha is a friendly , knowledgeable and encouraging teacher. As an adult learner , one of my biggest issues is with actually speaking the Irish that I do have . Sorcha politely prompts me to go back to Gaeilge when I slip back into using English. When I make mistakes , Sorcha will gently inform me of the correct structure that I should have used , without making me feel like a fool. It’s a skill that not all teachers have and along with simple , constructive lesson plans and some homework , makes Sorcha a great choice no matter what level your Irish is at. I’d recommend Sorcha as a teacher and I’m sure she’ll help you with your language journey , on top of that you’ll have met a genuinely nice person , it’s a win win really !

I have had more than 100 lessons with Sorcha over the past 2 years and they have all been excellent. She is a gifted teacher with a flair for explaining not only the intricacies of the language but also giving useful background on the development of the language. This allows the student to have a deeper understanding of the culture as well as the language without every going off on a wild tangent.

I have been doing regular conversation practices with Sarah, in Irish, for almost three years now. There has never been a conversation that was not interesting and fun; I enjoy the conversations very much, and they have really improved my spoken Irish!

Sorcha is a fine teacher. I am not confident that I am a good enough student. Nonetheless, she gives encouragement.

Sorcha is very patient and engaging, she always makes sure that you feel comfortable and learning at your own pace, but she doesn't hesitate to challenge you either, very helpful for actually starting to speak even when you doubt your ability to do so. I recommend her to anyone considering Irish.
