Lina Budiarti

Lina is a great teacher. Her small-talk method is fun, engaging and effective. I love how we spend a lot of time each lesson just talking - that's fantastic practice! I learn new words in sentences, I listen to the language more when she speaks, and, of course, I try to make sentences on my own. Lina writes everything down so I can read it again and again after our lesson. She prepares very structured and clear materials. I also have homework, and when we check it, Lina asks some additional questions - so from the very beginning (I started from 0), you will talk A LOT during Lina's classes, and that's good. She is super kind and has positive energy. Thank you for guiding me on my way to learn Indonesian :)

I initially chose lessons with Ibu Lina because her audio is good, she speaks Indonesian at a speed and with a clarity that was easy to understand, her English is great, and I wanted someone with teaching skills rather than just a conversation partner.  Lina is an excellent teacher. Her lessons are a combination of free-style conversation practice and tuition from her own course materials. There's flexibility within the course materials, which form a framework to focus on what I'm specifically trying to learn or struggling with. The lessons are also great fun. Lina is warm, entertaining, patient and responsive to where I'm at with my learning, but she also (gently) pushes me to work harder in my studies by making sure I've got enough homework to do between lessons. If you are serious about learning Indonesian and are looking for a teacher who is serious about teaching, and who can focus the lessons on your current level and specific goals, I would highly recommend Ibu Lina.
