Another fun class with Yoshi sensei! I really like how we mix up my lessons so I'm always being challenged to learn new skills. Today, I practiced giving a presentation in Japanese, which was both fun and challenging. I especially appreciate how Yoshi sensei always provides thoughtful feedback and introduces new vocabulary to help me improve. I always leave each class feeling like I've learned many new things!

今日は尊敬語と謙譲語について学びました。市販(しはん)の日本語の文法書では、尊敬語の作り方の一つとして「れる・られる」が紹介されていますが、今回のレッスンで、この形はあまり使われないということに気づきました。 また、「ご確認しました」よりも「確認いたしました」のほうが自然な表現だということも学べて、本当に勉強になりました。先生、次のレッスンもよろしくお願いいたします！

Je viens de prendre mon cours d'essai avec Yoshi, et je dois dire qu'il est très gentil et appliqué. Nous avons commencé par revoir les leçons 1 et 2 que j'avais déjà appris seulement par moi même pour jauger un peu mon niveau et voir de quoi je me souvenais. Yoshi est calme et gentil. Il vous donne des moyens mnémotechnique pour vous rappeler de certaines choses, très utile. Merci Yoshi :)

Speaking two languages while growing up was something I really took for granted, because as a child it was effortless. Nowadays, I am much older and took up Japanese on a whim while recovering from a surgery. Learning a third language is the most rewarding and enjoyable hard work I have had in a long time. I love it, and Yoshi is no small part of my Japanese adventure. He's always upbeat, easy to speak to (luckily for me), and makes things very clear. Honestly, I leave his lessons with more enthusiasm for learning this incredible language. Take it from me, I am retired public high school principal and college professor, this is what the best teachers do for their students! ヨシさんありがとうございます！

Yoshi sensei was very encouraging and easy to talk to, even in my broken Japanese. I’m looking forward to learning more from him in the future.

It has been some time since I've taken Japanese classes, and I have become a little rusty with some of the basics. Yoshi-sensei very patiently helped me through the fundamentals that I had trouble understanding, and I feel much more confident. I look forward to continue learning from him.
