Having traveled across China and multiple countries worldwide, I am highly familiar with Chinese local customs and cross-cultural communication. My lessons help you explore diverse Chinese culture far more than just iconic sights like the Great Wall. I have rich experience teaching global students and understand your learning needs well. I specialize in helping learners memorize Chinese characters efficiently and speak Chinese with greater confidence. I hold a Master’s degree in Chinese culture, top-level Mandarin certification and a professional teaching license. With over three years of teaching experience across 30+ countries, I help students progress from basic pronunciation to fluent conversations. I adopt situational teaching, TPR methods and interactive activities to make classes vivid and effective. I have cross-cultural teaching experience in Singapore, the Philippines and Inner Mongolia, plus community volunteer teaching experience. Now working on a top global Chinese learning platform, I help you build confidence and love for Chinese learning. I fully understand common learning difficulties: speaking anxiety due to limited language environment, inability to form complete sentences, stiff expressions and easy character forgetting. I also support heritage learners with school coursework, with targeted solutions for all these issues.

I've had 3 classes with Chao so far and the classes are so useful. I'm working on improving my pronunciation. Chao is so patient, and can pinpoint exactly what my problems are. The reading & analysis workshops are a great opportunity to practise reading and recognising characters while targeting pronunciation issues at the same time. Hard work but really enjoyable!

Tutor Chao is a wonderful teacher. She prepares entertaining and interactive material, and then provides useful feedback after each lesson. I am a beginner but Tutor Chao adjusts the level of difficulty to be just right for me - I feel like I am making good progress and look forward to many more lessons!
