I am 26 years old PhD student in Japan. I was born and raised in Türkiye. I studied abroad in Slovenia as an undergraduate student. I graduated from Hacettepe University Department of Pharmacy and continued my higher education in neuropharmacology. Now, I work on fruit flies and study sleep and diet. I helped a lot of people with their English. When I first came to Japan, I was the only international student in my lab. I could not speak in Japanese and not many people could speak English. I have provided the students in my lab a safe space to talk. I encouraged them to talk. It is normal to make mistakes.
